Description
SPEYSIDE: Ultra small batch release from this “estate” distillery where every aspect of production is controlled on site, including growing the barley.
From The Distillery
Ballindalloch Distillery is situated on the picturesque Ballindalloch Estate. Close by to the distillery lies the famous Ballindalloch Castle, the estate golf course, popular fishing beats as well as fields for arable farming. We use these fields to grow Spring Barley, where we use 100% of our own barley when producing our whisky.
The Distillery is situated within an old steading, which converted into the distillery, with our first casks being filled in September 2014. We were opened by the then Prince Charles and Camilla. We do everything on-site, including bottling and labelling, as we are trying to remain as traditional as possible.
We are a family-owned business, with the laird of the Ballindalloch Estate, Guy MacPherson-Grant being thoroughly involved with the running and development of the distillery. The MacPherson-Grants have called Ballindalloch their home ever since 1546. They have a rich history of distilling with small distillery being situated on their estate in the 1800s, and Sir George MacPherson-Grant being a co-founder of Cragganmore Distillery in 1869.
Ballindalloch 2015 Vintage
46% abv
Natural colour
Non-chill filtered
Just 3600 bottles produced and matured in ex-sherry and bourbon casks for a rich mouthfeel. Dried fruit flavours, vanilla, a touch of citrus and some salty minerality. Good, long finish, plenty to chew on. Quite a collectable item from one of Speyside’s smallest distilleries.
