Description
A mixed case of absolute winners
1 each of
GOBILLARD BLANC DE BLANCS, FRANCE
CHAMPAGNE. Blanc de Blancs champagne = 100% Chardonnay. Refreshing acidity and crunchy green apple fruit makes for a great aperitif.
GREYSTONE BARREL FERMENTED SAUVIGNON BLANC, NEW ZEALAND
WAIPARA. A rich, creamy and textural barrel fermented Sauvignon Blanc. A luscious mix of tropical apricot, kiwi, rich creamy peaches and lychee with good balancing acidity.
DEMORGENZON MAESTRO WHITE, SOUTH AFRICA
STELLENBOSCH. Full bodied wine, inspired by Rhone style whites, with intense stone fruit flavours, hints of spice and blossom and a twist of citrus on the finish.
PAUL CLUVER ESTATE PINOT NOIR, SOUTH AFRICA
ELGIN. Super sophisticated, luminous pinot noir packed full of juicy, ripe red berries and succulent blackcurrants and blueberry. Finishing off smartly with blueberry french toast and classic Pinot savoury notes.
CASARENA CABERNET FRANC, ARGENTINA
MENDOZA. Single vinyeard wine with 12 month in French oak. All the bright fruit and floral notes you would exect from Cabernet Franc on the nose, complemented by a rich palate of tobacco and spice.
CLUNIA MALBEC, SPAIN
RIBERA DEL DUERO. Humungous and yet very, very fine spanish Malbec from a small, high altitude (1000m), arid vineyard. Very rare. I think it is the ONLY Malbec from Ribera, hence no DOC.
